A proctor is the person who Washtenaw will mail your final exams to. This proctor will administer these exams at a location near your home while following college rules. In a few pages, we will explain more how the exam process works. For now, it is important to ensure Washtenaw has an approved proctor on file for you as soon as possible.
If you live within 100 miles of a JATC Tutor-Instructor classroom, you have likely already received information from JATC explaining that you must attend classes and take your exams at that specific location. If this applies to you, you do not need to do anything; Washtenaw will automatically have that information on file for you and your exams will be sent to that Tutor-Instructor.
If, however, you live outside of a JATC Tutor-Instructor classroom district, you must select an independent proctor. In order to do this you must review the rules of proctor selection and have your chosen proctor fill out and submit the form “Request for Independent Proctor Questionnaire” to Washtenaw for approval. If you did not receive a copy of this form from Washtenaw, you can download it here.
Don’t wait! We recommend you take action to get this done this immediately, as the approval process can take several weeks and delays will jeopardize your ability to complete exams before deadlines.
